Mudgee is a bustling town with cafes, pubs and boutiques, art galleries and beautiful architecture on tree lined streets that change with the seasons. There are also nearby quaint towns like Gulgong and Rylstone with their rich history and country charm, all connected by stunning scenic drives, national parks and award winning wineries.

What is your favourite thing to do at this property:

Watching the moon rise over Elephant Rock from the day bed on the wrap around verandah, or a sunset drink around the fire pit as the stars come out.

What is your favourite trip close by:

There are so many great options that it's hard to choose! But one of our absolute faves is The Drip. This track in the Goulburn River National Park offers a leisurely walk through a scenic gorge with impressive sandstone walls lining one side of the track and a picturesque river lining the other. The Drip is truly special, it's hard to describe until you've experienced it for yourself.

Guests should not forget to pack their….

Marshmallows for toasting around the fire pit or the large indoor fire, a good book, a beanie and warm coat if you are visiting in winter and swimmers for visits to the surrounding national parks in summer.

How did you come to offer accommodation in the bush?

We first fell in love with the Mudgee region in 2020. It's such a beautiful region with so much to explore, and from the moment we discovered Wandarra, we knew that we'd found somewhere special. The first time you stand out on the verandah and soak in the panoramic views of iconic Elephant Mountain and listen to the sound of rustling gum trees and local birdlife, we're confident that you'll fall in love with Wandarra too.
